I noticed a huge number of Reddit events for some DOIs. Looking at both Reddit's search API and site search, Reddit is parsing article DOIs into individual numbers to return an inflated search result.
Searching on the DOI: "10.1167/14.13.1"
Is actually returning a search on "10 1167 14 13 1" (which matches on leaderboards, etc.).
Trying to escape or HTML encode characters (hover over this link to see HTML encoding - "10.1167/14.13.1") leads to the same results.
Anybody know how to escape the search query to return the correct results?
Thanks. There are other issues with the Reddit source in that we are missing a lot of Reddit events that include a DOI we are using in the Search API call. Let me investigate.
